QM Diagnostics offers a complete microbiology service, which comprises virology, bacteriology, parasitology and gross pathology. To guarantee successfull isolation and identification of pathogens for bacteriology, parasitology and gross pathology it is necessary that QM Diagnostics receives live animals.

Before sending your animals it is essential to inform about quarantine capacity.

Animals can be delivered, after approval of QM diagnostics, to the institute at the shipping address from Monday to Friday, with the exception of national holidays, from 8:30 a.m. until 16:00 p.m. If a transport is expected to arrive after 16:00 p.m., please call +31 (0) 24 36 13567 or +31 (0) 24 36 13579 to arrange the reception.

Transportation boxes that must be used for transportation of live animals to QM Diagnostics are standard transportation boxes used by commercial breeders of laboratory animals. Bio Services can supply transportation boxes in different sizes and models, also including separation walls. Cages must be provided with filters, enough bedding, food and moisture for two days. Transport gel can be arranges through the agency. Be sure that animals are not able to escape. Boxes must be accompanied with information about the animals, strain, number, location, institute, address, etc. Cages need windows for inspection at the border for international transport. Take care of absolute separation of animals from different colonies or rooms to prevent cross contaminations.

Transportation by aircraft

For transport by aircraft, we advise you to contact World Courier which has a worldwide-door-to-door service. For more information select your local World Courier office at www.worldcourier.com. It is necessary to fax flight details at least two days before transportation to QM Diagnostics. Please ensure that required customs documents are enclosed.
